Description
Job Title Head Of Engineering Intelligent Systems & AI Job Description We are looking for a Head of Engineering who is both a strategic leader and a hands-on builder to establish and scale our engineering team. This role will be responsible for hiring, mentoring, and leading a team of engineers to design and deliver modern full-stack applications. While the primary focus is on robust, scalable software development, the role will also involve exploring and integrating agentic AI frameworks and AI-driven automation where they create real business value. This is a roll-up-your-sleeves leadership role — the ideal candidate will be comfortable diving into code, shaping technical architecture, and leading by example while building out a world-class engineering organization. Key Responsibilities Build and Scale the Team Recruit, hire, and onboard a team of engineers across frontend, backend, and infrastructure disciplines. Define roles, responsibilities, and growth paths within the engineering team. Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Hands-On Leadership Contribute directly to system design, architecture, and coding when needed. Set technical standards and ensure engineering best practices across the stack. Mentor engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and pair programming. Product & Technology Execution Oversee the delivery of scalable full-stack applications with modern web and cloud technologies. Ensure security, reliability, and maintainability of systems. Introduce agentic AI components where appropriate to enhance product functionality and automation. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with product managers and designers to deliver customer-focused features. Collaborate with data and research teams to explore AI opportunities in real-world applications. Represent engineering in strategic discussions with senior leadership. Operational Excellence Implement agile processes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices. Establish metrics for velocity, quality, and reliability. Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements. Qualifications 10+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. Proven experience in building and scaling teams, including direct involvement in hiring and mentoring engineers. Strong background in full-stack development using modern frameworks and architectures (e.g., React, Node.js, Java, Python, microservices, cloud-native). Demonstrated ability to balance hands-on technical work with organizational leadership. Strong understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Skills Experience working with or integrating AI-driven applications or frameworks, ideally agentic AI or LLM-based systems. Knowledge of distributed systems, event-driven architectures, or real-time data processing. Experience in fast-scaling environments (startup or high-growth teams). Entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to be hands-on while scaling up. Why Join Us? Lead the creation of a new engineering organization from the ground up. Combine hands-on technical leadership with the opportunity to shape team culture and practices. Work at the intersection of full-stack applications and emerging AI-driven innovations. Make a real impact by delivering products that blend reliability, scalability, and intelligence. How we work together We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations. Indicate if this role is an office/field/onsite role.
