Description

Are you interested in developing the future of playful learning? Bring your expertise in engineering to help shape the future of products and platforms for LEGO Education!

PLAY YOUR PART IN OUR TEAM SUCCEEDING!

Starting with the initial release of LEGO MINDSTORMS in 1998, LEGO Education has been at the forefront of building experiences that merge digital and physical play. Today, we have built on this history with products like LEGO Education SPIKE Prime and LEGO Education SPIKE Essential. Creating these new types of learning and play opportunities for children requires a highly innovative, collaborative, and iterative mentality and approach.
The Head of Engineering role at LEGO Education offers a rare opportunity to shape the future of hands-on learning by leading the technical development of innovative physical and digital educational products. It’s an exciting chance to build impactful experiences that inspire students and educators around the world.
The Head of Engineering is a member of the Product Experience Leadership Team (PX LT) which is collectively responsible for product strategy, product management, design, engineering, quality, and educational impact of the LEGO Education portfolio. The position reports to the Head of Product Experience and will look after firmware, software and QA. The role will be responsible for managing a wider team of 17~ and we are therefore looking for a strong business and people leader that will create an engaging “playground” for everyone within the team.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit, lead, and cultivate engineering teams across software and firmware (embedded) domains.
  • Engage as a heads-on collaborator with engineering tasks including working with your team to define technical architecture, define engineering processes and standards, and drive capability development.
  • Lead investigation of new technologies and partnerships that can support LEGO Education’s mission to inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow.
  • Contribute as a member of LEGO Education’s Product Experience (PX) leadership team to establish product strategy, platform strategy, and strong ways-of-working across helix organization.
  • Collaborate with leaders across the LEGO Group to support strong ways-of-working across disciplines (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Procurement).
