JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a visionary and execution-focused Head of Engineering for Quality as a Service to lead the development of quality platforms, automation frameworks, and services that embed quality throughout the software lifecycle. This role is responsible for building reusable tools, self-service testing capabilities, and actionable quality insights that help teams take ownership of product excellence at scale. You’ll partner closely with product, developer experience, SRE, and platform teams to shift quality left, reduce release risk, and accelerate delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 12+ years of experience in software engineering or quality engineering, with 7+ years in technical leadership or platform engineering roles
  • Proven experience building internal tools or platforms focused on test automation, quality engineering, or developer enablement
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD systems, test frameworks (e.g., Jest, JUnit, Cypress, Playwright), and modern SDLC practices
  • Strong background in observability, metrics, and feedback loops related to test health and software reliability
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence quality strategy across product and engineering
  • A mindset that balances technical rigor with pragmatism, enabling teams to move fast without sacrificing stability
    The targeted pay range for this position in the following location is / locations are:
    United States - Dallas Infomart Office DAI : 202,000 - 304,000 USD / Annual
    Our pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location.The pay range shown is based on our compensation structure in place at the time of posting and may be updated periodically based on business needs. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.
    The targeted pay range listed reflects the base pay only and does not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Employees are eligible for bonus, and equity may be offered depending on the position.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering organization responsible for QaaS platforms, test automation tooling, CI/CD quality gates, and quality observability
  • Define and execute a strategic roadmap to deliver scalable, developer-friendly quality services that support unit, integration, performance, and end-to-end testing
  • Champion “quality as code” and “testability as a feature” principles across engineering
  • Build platform capabilities such as test orchestration, test data management, synthetic monitoring, and fault injection
  • Drive initiatives that provide engineering teams with visibility into quality metrics (e.g., flakiness, coverage, pass rates) and integrate them into daily workflows
  • Partner with engineering leadership to define quality SLAs and automate enforcement through CI/CD
  • Cultivate a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement around product quality
