We are one of the last remaining boutiques in Australia. We are currently the largest CREST Registered Penetration Testing company in Melbourne and one of the only boutiques to run a 24x7x365 Security Operations Team completely onshore.
Triskele Labs is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Head of Engineering to take the reins of our Engineering and Internal IT functions as we continue to grow and scale. As one of Australia’s largest CREST Registered Penetration Testing companies and a proudly independent Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP), we are committed to delivering top-tier cybersecurity solutions with integrity and excellence. This is a key leadership role within our organisation, reporting directly to the CTO and forming part of our Leadership Team.
You’ll be responsible for defining and executing the engineering strategy that underpins our technology delivery and supports our ISO27001 and ISO20000 certified services. Your focus will be on building a high-performing team, optimising internal systems and workflows, and driving innovation in everything from infrastructure to automation. You’ll also provide oversight of our internal IT operations, help shape future DevOps functions, and support business-wide objectives through your input in strategic planning and decision-making.
This role is hands-off-by-default (80% leadership, 20% technical), making it ideal for someone with deep technical experience who thrives leading from the front. You’ll also support pre-sales consultancy, collaborate across departments, and ensure that our tech stack and processes scale as we do. REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this role, you’ll need a solid foundation in cybersecurity engineering, proven leadership experience, and a passion for creating scalable, secure, and efficient technical environments. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years in engineering roles, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity, preferably in cybersecurity or a related high-compliance sector
• Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure), traditional networking, system architecture, and endpoint and network security tools like SIEM, SOAR, EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewalls
• Experience with incident response, threat intelligence, and maintaining systems in 24x7x365 environments
• Strong grasp of security and compliance frameworks including ISO27001, ISO20000, SOC2, DISP, and GDPR
• Experience building and leading high-performing technical teams, including performance management, recruitment, workforce planning, and career development
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic planning skills

Preferred but not essential:

• Certifications like CISSP, CISM, CISA, or GIAC
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Shuffle)
• Experience in scripting and automating security operations tasks
• Knowledge of multi-tenant vs single-tenant architectures and integration best practices
