What You Will Do As the Head of Engineering for Discover, you will own the technical strategy, execution, quality, and delivery of the product. Execution & Delivery Ownership: Own the end-to-end execution of our engineering roadmap. You will unblock technical hurdles, and stabilize our MVP infrastructure to support complex, multi-brand, and agency-level scale. You ensure that we ship robust, performant code at startup speed. Hands-On Technical Leadership: This is a highly active role. You aren't just managing from a distance; you will write code, build prototypes, review PRs, and work side-by-side with your engineers to design scalable systems (LLM pipelines, data ingestion, and event-driven architectures). Engineering Quality & Standards: Establish the bar for technical excellence. You will define our coding, testing, and deployment standards, balancing the need for rapid product experimentation with strict platform stability, observability, and cost-efficient LLM integration. Cultivate an AI-Native Engineering Culture: Champion modern developer experiences (DevEx) within the team. Drive the adoption of agentic workflows and automated internal tools to eliminate boilerplate and amplify the team's delivery velocity. Who You Are A Hands-On, Battle-Tested Leader: 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams within fast-paced startup environments and rapidly changing landscapes. You are passionate about coaching developers directly and keeping your own coding and architecture skills sharp. A Product-Minded Executioner: You thrive at the intersection of AI, full-stack development, and experimentation. You don’t build architecture for the sake of architecture—you build to unlock immediate merchant value. You understand business KPIs, ask "Why" before "How," and translate product goals into clean technical solutions.
