Description
We are looking for a Head of English for an International Secondary School in Zhuhai. This position is available for the 2026–2027 academic year, beginning in Fall 2026. About the school Located in, Zhuhai’s Guangdong, this high-school campus delivers an international A-Level pathway (including a Pre-A Level year) with a whole-child approach and strong university guidance. It currently enrolls about 300 students and is staffed by 30+ expatriate teachers alongside 10+ domestic teachers, offering a tight-knit, English-medium learning environment with rich co-curriculars. About the role Provide strategic and instructional leadership for the High School English Department, building a strong reading–writing culture and delivering consistently high outcomes. Set department vision, annual plan, and clear KPIs Lead curriculum design and assessment for Grades 9–12; ensure progression from middle school Recruit, coach, and appraise teachers; foster collaboration and peer observation Teach a reduced load to model best practice in literature, language, and feedback Use data to drive common assessments, interventions, and exam readiness Oversee external exam preparation, coursework moderation, and academic integrity Champion whole-school literacy, debate/public speaking, and targeted EAL support Run enrichment: book clubs, writing contests, debate teams, author talks Engage parents and celebrate achievement through showcases and publications Manage budgets, resources, and digital tools; ensure safeguarding and policy compliance Teaching license Academic major must match the teaching subject Minimum 5 years of directly relevant experience, including leadership responsibilities Salary and benefits Competitive monthly salary, commensurate with experience and qualifications and is negotiable Annual housing allowance up to 80,000 RMB Medical Health Insurance Fully paid summer and winter holiday Christmas holiday Annual travel benefit Internal promotion Residence and work permit sponsored
