We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Head of Environment & Heritage to join our People, Safety and Culture team in Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the General Manager HSEH, you will lead the Environment and Heritage (E&H) function across APA, shaping the enterprise approach and enabling the business to deliver its environmental and cultural heritage obligations. This is a strategic leadership role with a strong focus on business partnering, influencing Executives and senior leaders to drive accountability, informed decision making and consistent performance across a complex national asset base. You will provide clear enterprise leadership across environment and cultural heritage, ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations while supporting the business to operate responsibly and maintain constructive relationships with Traditional Owners. Key Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of Environment & Heritage Business Partners Partner with and influence Executives and their leadership teams to drive alignment and outcomes in a complex environment Deliver the HSEH Strategy, with a focus on E&H initiatives across the business Strengthen governance and assurance frameworks at an enterprise level Oversee line 2 assurance, investigations and performance reporting Support Executive and Board forums, contributing insights and influencing direction on E&H performance and disclosures Your Background Experience in senior environment, sustainability or ESG leadership roles Strong capability in governance, assurance and enterprise frameworks Proven ability to influence and align senior stakeholders in complex environments Collaborative leadership style, with a focus on enabling teams and building capability Sound judgement and sensitivity across cultural heritage and Indigenous engagement Comfortable operating in evolving environments, with the ability to build alignment and momentum over time Working at APA At APA, we’re committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
