About Us   Lead the environmental future of a critical energy network We are seeking a strategic and experienced Head of Environmental Sustainability to lead the organisation’s environmental strategy and ensure our transmission network is planned, built and operated in a way that protects ecosystems, meets community expectations, and aligns with NSW and national climate objectives. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the organisation’s transition toward a low-emissions future, embedding environmental sustainability into decision-making, regulatory engagement, and long-term asset planning.   The Role As Head of Environmental Sustainability, you will provide strategic leadership across the organisation, ensuring environmental considerations are integrated into operations, planning, and major infrastructure delivery. You will oversee the development and implementation of the organisation’s environmental sustainability strategy, manage environmental risk and compliance frameworks, and lead engagement with regulators, government agencies and key stakeholders. This role also ensures that the organisation maintains a robust Environmental Management System (EMS) and continues to meet regulatory and certification requirements, including ISO 14001. About You   To be successful in this role, you will bring deep expertise in environmental sustainability within complex, regulated environments and the ability to influence strategic decision-making at the highest level.   Essential experience and qualifications include: Postgraduate qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, engineering or a related discipline. Senior leadership experience in environmental sustainability within energy, infrastructure, utilities or government sectors. Extensive experience managing environmental obligations in organisations with high environmental risk operations. Strong knowledge of NSW environmental legislation, planning frameworks and regulatory processes. Demonstrated experience leading environmental strategy, environmental management systems, and sustainability reporting.
