Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Head of Finance to join our expanding European operations. This position is ideal for a finance professional with strong knowledge of UK and EU accounting practices, particularly in the areas of purchasing and importing goods into Europe.
Initially, your focus will be on core financial operations—including accounts payable/receivable, banking, and compliance—within a small but agile team. As we grow, you’ll play a key role in scaling and leading our finance function across the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Operations: Manage daily financial activities including AP/AR, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • Compliance & Regulation: Ensure compliance with UK and EU accounting standards, VAT/tax laws, and customs requirements for goods entering Europe.
  • Transaction Management: Oversee payments, manage cash flow, and liaise with banking institutions.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and forecasts to support strategic planning.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate and enhance financial controls, workflows, and system efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Grow and manage a regional finance team as operations expand.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with the U.S.-based CFO and other global stakeholders to align financial strategies and reporting practices.
  • Coaching & Development: Foster growth within your team, supporting junior staff in their professional development.
