Description

As Head of Finance & Controlling (m/f/d), you will play a central role here:

You will lead the Accounting and Company Planning & Steering/Controlling departments and significantly influence their strategic and operational development.

YOUR AREA OF EFFECT

You will assume professional and disciplinary leadership of currently six employees within the two teams: Accounting and Company Planning & Steering (FP&A). This means you will be responsible for the entire finance area, including the core processes of accounting, reporting, planning/budgeting, and steering, and you and your team will create transparency that enables sustainable growth.

  • Investor & Board Reporting:
  • Together with the CFO, you will prepare reports and decision-making documents for investors and the supervisory board and discuss these regularly in review meetings.
  • Controlling Budget Processes & Business Case:
  • You are responsible for budgeting along the P&L and cash flow, and in the future also for a planned balance sheet, thus controlling the business case and financial success of the group.
  • Data collection & target group-oriented reporting:
  • You ensure correct accounting recording, prepare the data in a target group-oriented manner and create reports for management, shareholders or stakeholders on this basis – clear, understandable & financially correct.
  • Annual Financial Statements & IFRS Transformation:
  • You will be responsible for the annual financial statements (including consolidated financial statements) according to German GAAP (HGB) and, in the future, also IFRS. You will continue to support the already prepared IFRS conversion, including the change of accounting/ERP software, and work closely with Principal Finance , which manages the process optimizations.
  • Sparring with CFO & Shareholder Management:
  • As the CFO's "partner in crime", you will work with him to strategically manage shareholders, actively think in terms of growth and investment scenarios, and develop these together with your team.
  • Strategic Business Development & Revenue Planning:
  • Together with the management team, you will develop strategic options for the further development of our business model, as well as new revenue streams. You will evaluate these quantitatively and derive clear recommendations for action.
  • Strategic and organizational development of your department:
  • You optimize processes and team structures so that we can integrate accounting and controlling even more closely in the future, and colleagues can better interpret and manage results.

YOUR PROFILE

Your profile is based on a completed degree in business administration or economics, preferably with a focus on insurance management, finance and/or accounting.

  • You have several years of professional experience in finance roles at an insurance company, a "Big 4" auditing firm and/or startups/scaleups, and have already led a team in a disciplinary capacity for an extended period of time.
  • You already have experience in investor relations, either on the "sidelines" in direct communication with shareholders or in internal preparation.
  • You have good German and English skills and feel comfortable in both languages, even in technically complex discussions.
  • You have experience working with external service providers, as well as auditors or tax advisors.
  • You have excellent knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint, and you have also worked with various ERP/accounting software and planning tools (we use "Jedox" for planning and reporting).
  • In addition to creating and managing the P&L, you have already been responsible for managing the cash flow.
  • You have no problem when requirements change, you can adapt quickly to new situations and you work in a highly solution-oriented manner.
