The Role The Head of Finance - Europe has primary responsibility for the day-to-day financial planning and strategy of Lumon Europe through the effective management of the company’s finances and control environment, including financial tax planning, management of financial risks, record keeping, and financial reporting. Of specific importance is leading and managing the investment strategy for customer assets in line with Group and regulatory policy. As a member of the local Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the successful candidate will be expected to lead by example through demonstrating alignment with our values, collaborating with ELT colleagues, contributing to wider organisational matters, and providing advice and guidance on the company’s financial position, risks, and mitigation in line with regulatory requirements. This role would suit a senior finance manager looking to take on their first Head of Finance role, balancing day-to-day finance operations with a strategic remit and exposure to wider group stakeholders. What will you be doing? · Lead all financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management. · Develop and maintain robust financial controls, procedures, and policies in line with Group Financial Control. · Manage the resourcing and development of the finance function. · Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. · Build monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts to support investments across the European business and consolidation into Group forecasts. · Support the Lumon Europe CEO in developing strategies to increase return on investment and profitability across the European business. · Collate and present financial reports to the local Executive Leadership Team, Board, investors, and other stakeholders. · Ensure adherence to UK Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). · Produce and submit regulatory returns to the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI). · Provide support and assistance to Lumon Group finance projects and initiatives. · Deliver year-end accounts and support statutory audit activity, including liaison with auditors. This role would suit someone who has: · 5+ years’ post-qualification experience with in-depth knowledge of investment, VAT treatment, and taxation accounting. · 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Finance Manager or Controller within a substantial business division of a major corporate. · Proven track record operating at Senior Management level. · Previous experience working within a CBI-regulated business. · Solution-oriented with the ability to deliver successfully within complex environments. · Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate, develop, and inspire high performance. · Excellent written and verbal communication skills. · Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building capabilities. · Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills. · Results-oriented with demonstrable experience implementing strategies that drive financial performance. · Excellent reporting and presentation skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly. · Strong influencing skills and ability to challenge constructively. · High levels of resilience and adaptability within changing environments. · Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills. Specific Regulatory Knowledge & Competencies · Maintain appropriate knowledge of the CBI “High Level Standards” within the CBI Handbook of Rules and Guidance and apply this knowledge to ensure full regulatory compliance. · Maintain knowledge of corporate governance requirements and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation. · Maintain knowledge of accounting regulations and ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.
