Intro: Sequence is the AI-native billing and quote to cash platform for modern B2B teams, including Bridge (Stripe), incident.io and Cognition (Devin). Founded by serial entrepreneurs and backed by a16z, 645 Ventures and Salesforce Ventures with a recently completed Series A round, we’re now looking for our first Head of Finance / Expert in Residence. 🚀This is a truly unique role for a swiss army knife Finance operator. You will not just be our internal Finance leader, but a subject matter expert for our product & engineering teams, especially our revenue recognition squad. Given we sell to finance teams, you will also have an unparalleled opportunity to represent Sequence with your peers at events, customer / prospect calls and onsite presentations. In short, you will drive material value across Finance, Product & GTM. As noted, not a typical HoF position :) This role will report directly to the Co-Founder / COO, and will initially be supported by our fractional, outsourced UK and US accounting teams. Requirements: Qualified accountant (CPA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA) Litmus test: are you able to close books autonomously if needed? 4+ years experience in fast-growing B2B SaaS / AI scaleups Litmus test: have you experienced a hypergrowth journey before? Able to work across London / NYC time zones (essential for supporting our product teams as inhouse finance expert) Proven track record of success for 2+ years in prior roles (we want someone who will stick around and play a central role in our growth journey for 3-4+ years and will offer equity accordingly) [Bonus] Capable of building FP&A model and preparing quarterly board updates [Bonus] Experience scaling from Series A to C+, comfortable in fast-paced environments [Bonus] Hands-on experience using comparable finance products (Maxio, Chargebee, Zuora, Stripe Billing) [Bonus] In-person in NYC or London (not required) Responsibilities: Overseeing month end close / reconciliation with our fractional teams Owning revenue recognition policy and audit readiness Hiring and bringing accounting fully inhouse Playing central role in product feedback and prioritization for our ASC 606 / IFRS 15 rev rec and billing modules Owning quarterly finance board pack Managing liquidity balances across bank accounts Establishing more robust and scalable processes & procedures across our finance stack: QBO (US ERP) Xero (UK ERP) Sequence (Accounts Receivable & Quote to Cash) Ramp (Accounts Payable) Gusto (US Payroll) Payfit (UK Payroll) If interested, email enda@sequencehq.com with your resume and a quick note on why you think there’s a good fit. Responsibilities
The Head of Finance will oversee month-end close, revenue recognition policies, and audit readiness while managing liquidity and financial board reporting. They will also act as a subject matter expert for product teams to help prioritize billing and revenue recognition features.
