Description

We are looking for a Head of Financial Performance to join our Finance and Data & Analytics teams. More than that, we’re looking for a motivated, energised and growth loving master of numbers to help build our Financial Performance function from the ground up and work with our leaders to deliver the best results we have ever had. Chaos Theory works at the intersection of sports, entertainment and cryptocurrency and we are hiring to grow our business like crazy. We’ve been key in the development of a pioneering product in the industry that is now one of the leading players globally. We’re now also helping to build and launch a number of new entertainment products including in the areas of predictions markets and social. A Day in the Life Imagine starting your day by checking the results of your favourite sporting events overnight, checking the performance of our products using the platform reports you’ve helped build and then reaching out to various internal leaders (your partners) to highlight some awesome results and areas to focus on. You then work with your team to check-in on the monthly reporting pack for this month and, after a strong cup of coffee, get ready to present to the executive team on the last quarter's performance in the quarterly business review that you chair. After that, you check in with the accounting team on some tweaks to the dimensions in the accounting system to better track some team-level information and have a meeting with marketing on return on investment. Finally, you spend some time looking at the AI tools that can help our team automate the delivery of information and reporting. You’re in control of our organizations performance and are one of the leading players in driving a new level of ownership to achieve our goals. To succeed in this role, you’ll need: A minimum of 5 years of experience in Financial Performance (Financial Planning and Analysis) functions Demonstrated leadership of that function - reporting to the CFO - in a tier 1 technology company which has been a hyper-growth player and / or world leader in its segment A preference for experience in the gaming or other industries which has large volumes of high frequency transaction level data A deep understanding of B2C technology based companies and the platform level data which is used to make decisions, particularly in respect of return on investment Energised by the opportunity to build a Financial Performance team from the ground-up including all of the supporting infrastructure to support the organizations performance Willingness to take the lead on a re-design of our accounting and reporting systems and design The ability to work collaboratively cross functionally, interact with and guide c-suite executives and closely align to Data & Analytics A strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience in modeling, backtesting, and strategy evaluation Bright, curious and have a love of learning from the bottom level of detail (at the accounting system level) to the top (presentation to c-suite executives) The ability to thrive in a high-autonomy environment, whether remote or in-office It’d be great, but not strictly necessary, if you also had: Accounting and accounting system implementation experience Experience in cryptocurrency and on-chain mechanics Experience working closely with Data & Analytics teams You will be responsible for: Designing and building the new Financial Performance function and team Designing and implementing a new accounting and FP&A system to provide the information required for decision making Running quarterly business review meetings for a performance assessment and new target setting Preparing monthly financial performance reports for the c-suite and board of directors as required Assisting Product and Marketing with investment case development and return on investment analysis Setting KPIs and targets by function, working with the c-suite and HR Annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasting where required Transforming Chaos Theory by helping drive a new phase of hyper-growth driven by exciting, aspirational and clear target setting, communication and performance reporting! Responsibilities

You will be responsible for designing and building the new Financial Performance function and team, as well as implementing a new accounting and FP&A system. Additionally, you will run quarterly business review meetings and prepare monthly financial performance reports for the c-suite and board of directors.
