Description
Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of the annual budgeting process and multi-year financial forecasts. Produce management reporting packages for senior leadership and the Board, including variance analysis, KPI dashboards, and forward-looking commentary. Develop and maintain financial models for scenario and sensitivity analysis to support capital and risk management decision-making across the annuity portfolio. Partner closely with the actuarial team to understand and communicate movements in liabilities. Collaborate with the investments team to analyze ALM positioning, spread income, and the financial performance of asset-intensive treaty structures including annuity and funding agreements. Support the preparation of investor relations materials, rating agency presentations, and regulatory filings as required under Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) frameworks, including BSCR and EBS reporting. Identify opportunities to enhance FP&A processes, actuarial finance interfaces, and reporting infrastructure, driving efficiency and analytical rigor across the function. Provide support for key actuarial initiatives related to financial reporting, including new treaty and product onboarding, annual experience studies and assumption unlocking, and year-end financial reporting. Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous development. Other tasks as assigned Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, business, or related field required. FSA designation. At least 10 years of relevant actuarial experience, including financial planning, analysis, or financial reporting under US GAAP and/or Bermuda EBS/BSCR frameworks. Thorough understanding of reinsurance structures, including coinsurance, modified coinsurance (modco), funds withheld, and flow reinsurance arrangements. Required Skills Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Technical skills in actuarial modeling tools and/or programming languages (e.g., R, Python, FIS Prophet or equivalent). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills. Capable of summarizing and communicating complex topics clearly and succinctly. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Intellectually curious and self-motivated with high standards. High ethical standards and integrity. Supervisory Responsibilities Manage and mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous development.
