Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join Imperial College London as the Head of Fire Safety, leading the development and implementation of fire safety strategies across our campuses. This senior leadership role is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors by overseeing fire safety operations and fostering a strong fire safety culture. Be part of a dynamic team dedicated to maintaining a safe and compliant environment.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

As the Head of Fire Safety, you will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive fire safety strategy aligned with the University’s broader health and safety objectives. You will provide strategic advice and evidence-based leadership on key fire safety issues, support Faculties and Departments in compiling and reviewing fire risk assessments and establish fire safety policies. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with fire safety legislation, monitoring contractors, and influencing strategic decisions on new developments and refurbishments. Additionally, you will manage fire safety training, investigate fire-related incidents, and act as a key member of the University’s crisis management team. Building strong relationships with external fire safety regulators and leading a high-performing team of fire safety professionals will also be key aspects of your role.

THIS IS A FULL TIME, OPEN ENDED ROLE BASED AT SOUTH KENSINGTON, WITH REGULAR WORK REQUIRED ON EVERY CAMPUS.
