Description

Core Mandate: Insourcing & Building the Captive GBS

  • Own the insourcing business case — articulate and defend the cost, control, capability, risk, and value rationale for moving from an outsourced to an in-house model, and secure executive alignment.
  • Design the future-state operating model — define the governance framework, service catalogue, delivery structure, and multi-function architecture for an in-house organisation.
  • Lead the reverse transition — plan and execute the end-to-end repatriation of services from the incumbent provider, sequenced by function and delivery wave, with clear cutover and stabilisation criteria.
  • Govern the provider exit — manage contract wind-down, transition-service arrangements, dependencies, and the disentanglement of shared systems, data, licences, and processes.
  • Own reverse knowledge transfer — capture, validate, and internalise process knowledge, documentation, SOPs, and tooling currently held by the outgoing provider.
  • Guarantee business continuity — ensure zero disruption to service delivery during migration through rigorous risk management, contingency planning, parallel runs, and stabilisation.
  • Establish the captive footprint — define and stand up the delivery location strategy, infrastructure, and workforce plan.
  • Build the delivery workforce at scale — lead talent acquisition, organisation design, and, where relevant, the transfer or rebadging of provider personnel into the captive organisation.
  • Stand up the technology stack — implement the platforms, automation, and tooling required to operate services previously owned or enabled by the provider.

Service Scope

The GBS mandate spans the full breadth of enterprise support services and is not limited to Finance. The Head of GBS will build and lead delivery across the following areas:

  • Finance & Accounting — Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Record-to-Report, and financial operations
  • Human Resources Services — employee lifecycle administration, HR operations, and support
  • Procurement — Source-to-Pay operations and buying support
  • Information Technology Services — application and infrastructure support, service desk
  • Marketing Operations & Services — creative operations, campaign support, digital and content services
  • Master Data Management — data governance and maintenance across domains
  • Payroll — payroll processing and administration
  • Business & Administrative Support — broader shared enterprise service
