Description
Aspire Software, an operating group of Valsoft Corporation, acquires, builds, and grows vertical market software companies around the world. Each brand operates with entrepreneurial autonomy while benefiting from shared expertise, leadership, and collaboration across our global portfolio. Title: Head of GPO – Hospitality (Group Purchasing Organization) Location: Toronto or Montreal About the Opportunity We are building a hospitality-focused GPO that will aggregate purchasing power across thousands of hotels and restaurant operators within our software portfolio. This is not an internal procurement role. This leader will build a new business unit from the ground up — establishing a vendor partnership platform that improves operator economics while creating a scalable, high-margin revenue stream for the portfolio. This is a zero-to-one opportunity within an investment-backed vertical software environment, with clear potential to scale into a multi-million-dollar business. Key Responsibilities: 1. Build the GPO Business Define and launch the operating model, participation structure, and commercial framework Develop a clear roadmap from launch to scaled revenue Establish governance, reporting, and financial tracking mechanisms Evaluate build vs. partnership vs. acquisition opportunities 2. Secure and Structure Strategic Vendor Partnerships Identify and prioritize high-impact hospitality spend categories Recruit anchor suppliers and negotiate national or preferred agreements Structure vendor-funded monetization models (rebates, admin fees, hybrid structures) Build long-term, scalable supplier relationships 3. Drive Adoption and Revenue Growth Activate aggregated customer spend across the installed base Partner with portfolio CEOs and commercial teams to drive participation Ensure measurable economic value for operators Establish recurring vendor-funded revenue streams What Success Looks Like (First 12–18 Months) Operational GPO launched in one core hospitality segment Foundational vendor partnerships secured Meaningful aggregated spend activated Recurring vendor-funded revenue established Clear roadmap to scale into a multi-million revenue stream Ideal Candidate We are seeking a commercially driven builder with direct Group Purchasing Organization experience and a track record of scaling vendor-funded commercial models. Experience 6–10+ years of experience within a Group Purchasing Organization, purchasing consortium, shared services platform, or similar commercial aggregation model Demonstrated experience negotiating national supplier agreements and structuring rebate or vendor-funded monetization models Proven track record of launching or scaling a GPO, purchasing network, or vendor ecosystem Experience building or growing a business unit or commercial platform from early stage to scaled revenue Exposure to private equity-backed or multi-brand environments is a strong plus Hospitality industry experience is helpful but not required Profile Builder mindset with the ambition to scale a new business unit from zero to meaningful revenue Strong commercial instinct and advanced negotiation capability Deep understanding of aggregated spend economics and vendor incentive structures Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where none exists High ownership and accountability Financially literate with strong grasp of margin, rebates, and recurring revenue models Motivated by long-term growth and enterprise value creation #AspireSoftware
