Our two co-founders John and Lucas met over a team lunch and while chowing down on their cafeteria sandwiches they bonded over their unapologetically nerdy love for education technology. After months of white-boarding and long days spent writing thousands of lines of code, Compass 1.0 came to life in 2009 in Lucas’ parents’ garage.
Fast forward a decade - it’s no longer just John and Lucas eating sandwiches at the lunch table. Our school management ecosystem is now used in more than 5,000 schools across Australia and beyond. We’re joined by over 300+ members of the Compass team, delivering smart school management solutions around the world.

WHY WE NEED YOU

We’re looking for a commercially minded sales leader to own expansion across our existing customer base. We need someone with high ownership, scrappiness, and a proven record in B2B SaaS growth.
As our Head of Growth, you’ll design and execute strategies to unlock more value from our schools: driving cross-sell, upsell, adoption, and pricing optimisation. You’ll blend classic account expansion playbooks with AI-powered demand generation and sales enablement, ensuring every school maximises the value of Compass.

REQUIREMENTS

You’ll bring:

  • 3+ years’ experience in B2B SaaS account management, expansion, or commercial growth.
  • Proven success in cross-sell, upsell, pricing, and retention motions.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and CRM workflows to optimise outreach and expansion campaigns.
  • High ownership and scrappiness, able to grow accounts without large marketing budgets.
  • Strong commercial acumen, able to balance pricing, adoption, and product positioning.
  • Data driven mindset with advanced analysis skills (Excel/Sheets).
Responsibilities

Expansion Strategy & Execution

  • Lead Compass’s account expansion engine, increasing ARPU and adoption across existing schools.
  • Develop scalable playbooks for cross-sell and upsell of Compass modules.
  • Identify usage gaps and work with Product and Customer Success to close them.
  • Grow our AI agent offering (existing PoC in play already) to supercharge outreach, lead qualification, and sales capture within existing accounts.

Sales Leadership & Ownership

  • Drive and manage expansion revenue targets directly, hands on in deals, not just strategy.
  • Coach account managers/advisors to execute high velocity upsell and cross-sell motions.
  • Maintain pipeline discipline and deliver accurate ARR forecasts across expansion.

AI Strategy & Enablement (15%)

  • Define and embed use cases for AI and automation in account expansion and renewals.
  • Experiment with agent driven outreach, pricing scenarios, and tailored adoption campaigns.
  • Build repeatable AI driven systems that multiply account growth.

Demand Generation & Campaigns (10%)

  • Partner with Marketing to co-create targeted campaigns for specific product lines or school segments.
  • Run agile demand gen experiments inside the base (adoption nudges, targeted offers, lifecycle triggers).
  • Translate insights from the field into sharper messaging and positioning.
