Job Description: As the Infection Prevention Control (IPC) Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all aspects of IPC are meticulously maintained within our nursing home. You will be responsible for leading a team of around 20 IPC team members, including domestic and laundry team members. Your responsibilities will include staff rota’s and team holidays, completing audits, and creating comprehensive cleaning schedules. Additionally, you will manage stock and ordering, ensuring that all necessary supplies are always available. You will also work hands-on as part of the IPC team on a weekly basis to maintain a deep understanding of day-to-day operations.
You will report to the Registered Home Manager with any concerns and provide monthly IPC reports detailing themes and trends. Additionally, you will hold regular meetings with your IPC team and support the development of IPC champions across the home.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven experience in infection prevention and control, preferably in a healthcare or nursing home setting.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with all levels of team members.
  • Familiarity with relevant IPC guidelines and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems for scheduling, auditing, and reporting.
  • Passionate about promoting a safe and healthy environment for residents and team members.
