Description
We are looking for a Head of Humanities and Social Studies for an international school in Zhengzhou, Henan province. This position is available from the upcoming 2026–27 academic year in either February or August 2026. About the school K-12 school in Beijing's Chaoyang District dedicated to cultivating future citizens for personal well-being, lifelong development, and social progress. By integrating general competence into subject courses and using problem-solving projects, the school adopts a "student-centered" approach to encourage active learning and real-life problem-solving skills. About the ole Head of Humanities and Social Studies leads the academic direction, curriculum quality, and faculty development for the division while ensuring strong student outcomes and innovation. Lead divisional academic strategy aligned with global best practice and school priorities Chair key academic committees to drive innovation, standards, and continuous improvement Oversee curriculum design, interdisciplinary initiatives, assessment frameworks, and resource planning Establish teaching quality assurance systems through regular observation, coaching, and data analysis Lead faculty recruitment, evaluation, development pathways, and succession planning for subject leaders Promote action research, conferences, inter school exchanges, and teacher publication opportunities Build systems to monitor student progress, analyze outcomes, and design targeted learning support plans Manage academic budgets and learning resources, coordinating with facilities as needed Engage parents and community partners through academic briefings and external networks Collaborate with pastoral, student services, and IT on whole person development and digital transformation Teach 4 to 8 periods per week and deliver model lessons when required Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred 3-5 years of subject teaching experience Excellent communications skills Competitive salary package commensurate with experience and qualifications Monthly housing allowance of 6,000 RMB Public holidays Fully paid Summer and Winter holidays Medical health insurance Residence and work permit provided
