This role is both strategic andhands-on — you’ll architect the future of our platform, mentor a junior engineer, evaluate tools, and jump in on incidents when needed.

Responsibilities
  • Own the infrastructure vision: Architect and lead the migration to a simplified, secure, and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Multi-Region: Design and operate highly available, multi-region AWS environments to ensure business continuity and disaster recovery readiness
  • Lead and mentor: Provide technical guidance to a Junior Site Reliability Engineer and set operational standards.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Build and maintain AWS environments using AWS CDK TypeScript.
  • Vendor management: Evaluate and select tooling for incident management, monitoring, alerting, and on-call scheduling.
  • Security & networking: Own AWS cloud network topology including site-to-site VPNs and banking grade security using firewalls (Next Gen Firewall experience a huge plus).
  • Container & serverless services: Manage ECS Fargate workloads and AWS serverless applications.
  • Operational excellence: Work with senior leadership to manage infrastructure change, improve reliability, and respond calmly to production incidents.
  • Collaboration: Partner with engineering, product, and leadership to ensure infrastructure decisions align with business needs.
