Description
We are seeking a strategic and operationally focused Head of Insurance to lead the firm’s insurance platform within the broader wealth management ecosystem. This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of insurance product strategy, advisor enablement, carrier relationships, compliance alignment, and integration across our partner firms. Reporting to the Head of Focus Solutions, the Head of Insurance will work cross-functionally to ensure the firm delivers holistic financial planning by integrating insurance solutions into the client offering. This leader will be a key partner to advisors, business leaders, and external partners in building a scalable, compliant, and client-centric insurance experience. Primary Responsibilities Lead the development and execution of the firm’s insurance strategy aligned with broader wealth management goals. Partner with internal stakeholders to integrate insurance planning into the broader financial planning and investment framework. Develop training, tools, and resources to support advisor confidence and adoption of insurance solutions. Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to financial advisors on insurance planning strategies. Collaborate with regional and partner firm leaders to drive insurance engagement across the advisor base. Manage relationships with insurance carriers, wholesalers, and platform providers. Negotiate carrier agreements and oversee due diligence processes. Evaluate and implement technology and third-party tools to enhance insurance product delivery and service. Partner with Legal and Compliance to ensure insurance practices adhere to all regulatory requirements. Maintain proper licensing protocols, policy documentation, and risk oversight mechanisms. Ensure ongoing adherence to suitability and best-interest standards. Coordinate with marketing, client experience, financial planning, operations, and technology teams to support cohesive insurance delivery. Support acquisition and onboarding efforts to ensure seamless integration of insurance capabilities for new partners. Track insurance production metrics and develop KPIs to assess advisor engagement and platform performance. Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on insurance revenue, growth opportunities, and strategic risks. Manage a team of insurance strategists and operations specialists to deliver a best-in-class client experience. Build relationships with key advisors, creating a network of advisor advocates that help support our risk management strategy. Qualifications 15+ years of experience in the insurance and/or wealth management industry, with a focus on high-net-worth clientele. Proven leadership experience overseeing insurance distribution or platform management within a financial advisory environment. Strong understanding of insurance planning strategies, product structures, and advisory integration. Demonstrated experience working with financial advisors and cross-functional business leaders. Experience working directly with clients on implementing insurance strategies. Familiarity with broad range of insurance products including life, disability, long-term care, annuities, property and casualty. Insurance licensed in life, disability, long-term care, and fixed annuities. The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $300,000 - $350,000/year. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be performed, and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
