We are currently looking for a Head of Kitchen based at Summer Lane Primary School. If you are successful, you will join a small team of enthusiastic and hardworking individuals in the kitchen to produce daily nutritious school meals. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 13:30pm, where you will be responsible for managing a team of 1 staff member.

ABOUT THE ROLE
Working within the schools catering service you will provide excellent customer service and a high-quality food offer. With an in-depth understanding of health and safety and food safety you will produce fresh, tasty meals from a healthy school food standards compliant menu. It is important to support the delivery of the Council’s core priorities and support Directorates to deliver efficient and effective services.
Reporting to the Area Supervisor you will lead a small kitchen, keeping abreast of legislative changes and yours and your team’s training and development needs. You will be ordering and controlling your own stock and monitoring and recording all meals that you produce.
This role is defined as a safety critical role within the Drug & Alcohol Testing Procedure. You must therefore be willing to comply in accordance with this procedure.
