Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Head of Legal to lead and manage the legal and regulatory function of PalmPay Bangladesh. This role is responsible for contract review, legal consultation, regulatory interpretation, and internal compliance training. The ideal candidate will bring strong legal analysis skills, attention to detail, and the ability to execute complex legal tasks with precision. Key Responsibilities 1. Legal Affairs & Compliance Management Oversee all legal matters, including contract review, legal advisory, policy interpretation, and regulatory compliance. Ensure business activities comply with applicable laws and guidelines issued by Bangladesh Bank, NBR, BTRC, and relevant authorities. Provide legal assessments for new business models, partnerships, and product rollouts. 2. Contract Drafting & Negotiation Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, agreements, vendor documents, and MoUs. Maintain standard contract frameworks to ensure consistency and legal protection. Guide business teams to ensure contract terms align with legal and operational requirements. 3. Legal Research & Regulatory Monitoring Conduct legal research on corporate law, digital/fintech regulations, ICT laws, labor law, and data privacy. Monitor changes in regulatory policies and advise management on business impacts. Prepare legal reports, compliance briefs, and risk assessments. 4. Internal Training & Risk Prevention Deliver internal legal training sessions on topics such as contract compliance, dispute handling, company policies, and regulatory updates. Identify legal risks and develop preventive strategies. Support internal audits, investigations, and compliance reviews. 5. External Coordination & Representation Liaise with external law firms, regulatory bodies, auditors, and government institutions. Represent PalmPay in legal negotiations, dispute resolution, and regulatory communications. Handle legal documentation for corporate matters, licensing, and statutory filings. Education LL.B and LL.M are mandatory BPTC preferred. Must be a licensed Advocate enrolled with the Bangladesh Bar Council. Enlistment to practice in Bangladesh Supreme Court is strongly preferred. Experience 7-12 years of corporate legal experience in fintech, banking, telecom, MFS/PSP, or multinational companies. Strong experience in contract drafting, legal advisory, compliance, and regulatory communication. Ability to independently manage and execute complex legal matters. Skills & Competencies Strong legal analysis ability. High attention to detail and strong execution capability. Excellent communication skills in Bangla and English. Ability to conduct legal training and provide legal guidance to internal teams. Strong relationship management with regulators, law firms, and senior stakeholders.
