ABOUT FETCH

Fetch is building the app every pet parent needs—insurance, health, and care all in one place. We’ve raised our Series A, customers love us, and we’re growing quickly. Now we need a world-class lawyer to help us scale sustainably, make smarter decisions, and care for more pets.

Responsibilities

You’ll be our first legal hire, building our legal, risk, and compliance function from the ground up. This is your chance to shape how legal works at Fetch—embedding compliance directly into our products, systems, and workflows, not just writing policies. We see legal as a lever for speed and growth, not a constraint.

You’ll work closely with the CEO, product, ops, marketing, and engineering teams to design scalable, automated systems that keep Fetch compliant without slowing us down. We want a systems-thinker who automates, simplifies, and scales - if you hate repetitive work and love building solutions, you’ll thrive here. Bonus points if you’re excited about using AI to reinvent compliance. You’ll:

  • Lead legal across the business (contracts, partnerships, product, marketing, privacy, employment).
  • Own our AFSL obligations, regulatory relationships, and reporting.
  • Build a modern compliance framework with clear oversight and automated controls.
  • Use AI and modern tooling to embed compliance in daily operations, not just policies.
  • Design privacy and data governance frameworks, especially for AI and pet health data.
  • Support international expansion by working with local counsel on licensing and setup.
  • Contribute to clear product disclosures (PDS, TMD, FSG, claims and complaints).
  • Help prepare board updates, regulatory communications, and risk reporting.
