Job Description
Head of Manufacturing Strategy and Operations, Foster City, CA
Gilead Sciences is currently seeking a Head of Manufacturing Strategy and Operations, who will design and develop an organization to centralize activities to support a complex network of 1,400 employees, at many locations across the globe, delivering medicines for Gilead’s clinical and commercial portfolio. It is foreseen that this role will manage a team of 10-20 employees with 4-5 direct reports. This newly created function will provide oversight and direction for:
In addition, the lead will serve as a strategic thought partner to the Manufacturing Leadership Team to help design and implement a Manufacturing innovation roadmap, that will include digital transformation, and collaboration with PDM specific initiatives to enable Gilead’s 2030 ambitions. This leader will directly report to the SVP of Manufacturing and be a member of the Manufacturing Leadership Team. The ideal candidate will have broad experience in management in a GMP Manufacturing environment. The candidate will have a proven success record of working in a matrixed organization and regularly collaborating with cross-functional teams such as exist across PDM, and other functions in Gilead. In addition, the Head of Manufacturing Strategy and Operations will require excellent communication skills and will be comfortable interacting with internal and external teams of all levels, including Senior Management. This position will require the ability to design and optimize organizations and to understand and translate the business and strategic context within which we operate.

The salary range for this position is: $281,010.00 - $363,660.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
