Melbourne Grammar School has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Marketing and Communications to lead all aspects of the Schools marketing, communications, public relations, and brand management.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that enhances the School’s reputation, strengthens our brand, and fosters strong relationships with key stakeholders and our community.
Melbourne Grammar School offers a myriad of wonderful and interesting stories to tell. The Head of Marketing and Communications is pivotal in shaping the school’s narrative and is responsible for ensuring consistent, compelling and accessible messaging across all platforms.

Responsibilities

This is a hands-on role with a strong emphasis on communications. As a story-miner and storyteller, the Head of Marketing and Communications plays a key role in developing and sharing stories about Melbourne Grammar School’s people, places and purpose with our diverse audiences.
Working across our campuses and partnering with experts and thought leaders, the successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a creative problem-solver, and a passionate advocate for the School.

As the leader of our Marketing and Communications team, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • manage the design and implementation of communications and marketing elements of the MGS Strategic Plan, Towards 2030.
  • spearhead the School’s brand and media strategies and activities, including all digital media campaigns.
  • manage the Melbourne Grammar School brand.
  • support the Headmaster in responding to all media inquiries, build strong and positive relationships with key media contacts and identify opportunities to share the School’s story.
  • produce sophisticated, relevant and engaging content for each of the School’s external facing communication platforms, including creating Grammar News.
  • manage the day-to-day editorial function of communications, ensuring a consistently high standard.
  • lead and mentor a Marketing Manager, who is primarily responsible for delivering the marketing function at the School, and a Graphic Designer.
