The Difference You Make: The Director, Investment Operations & Administration plays an important role in developing, overseeing and implementing the business processes of the Investment Operations group. The incumbent works closely with the members of the leadership team to lead critical department projects, develop and analyze metrics, build relationships within and outside of the department and support and implement department strategy. • Manages the day-to-day operations team, drive process improvements, maintain strong relationships with clearing firms and custodians, and ensure the firms infrastructure supports business growth and risk management objectives. • Leads the execution of strategic cross-functional initiatives, projects, and commitments most important to the strategic direction of the department. • Guides and leads teammates and other members of management in the pursuit of executing organizational goals and objectives across all initiatives requiring execution of priorities and making sure deliverables are achieved on a timely and quality basis. • Manages, develops, and implements the organization's product and service offerings, systems, platforms, marketing efforts, and compliance. • Works with senior leadership to determine annual and quarterly priorities and is responsible for organizing, advancing, prioritizing, and reporting on the program of projects. • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and workflows to enhance operational efficiency. • Ensure operational processes support front-office sales and client needs with efficiency and accuracy. • Lead vendor and clearing firm relationships, negotiating service-level agreements and ensuring adherence to standards. • Responsible and accountable for appropriate quality controls related to the financial products we provide, the services we deliver, the processes we employ, and the incentives with which we reward our colleagues. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent. - Required. 9+ Years Experience in an investment operations role or equivalent. - Required. 9+ Years Leadership or management experience. - Required. • Comprehensive understanding of Santander's investment strategies and products. • Strategic thinker, able to assess, recommend and implement strategy. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-caliber results. • Must possess strong financial and business acumen and savvy. • Strong knowledge of bank operations, particularly as they result to investment management services. • Ability to work under pressure and excel in a fast-paced environment. • Strong communication and analytical skills. • Detailed knowledge of financial instrument valuation, including experience with financial models. • Understand investment strategies with respect to multi asset class portfolio accounting and reporting. • Strong relationship skills and an ability to calibrate discussions to a variety of audiences. • Exceptional analytical skills, demonstrated through specific on-the-job experience. • Ability to shift focus and balance more than one project at a time, working in a team environment, and willing to learn and take on other responsibilities within the group. • Ability and willingness to identify anomalies and challenge co-workers and business partners on a variety of accounting, operational and compliance matters. • Proven ability to adhere to deadlines, while possessing the flexibility and maturity to address all elements of one’s responsibilities, despite continually shifting priorities. Certifications: • FINRA Series 24 or 27 license - Required. What Else You Need To Know: The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.
