Job Description
Post Title: Head of Operations
Accountable to: Director
Job Purpose
We are seeking an exceptional leader to take on the role of Head of Operations across a group of specialist nursing dementia homes. This role is central to achieving our vision: five Outstanding-rated homes and establishing ourselves as the UK’s leading provider of specialist dementia care.
The successful candidate will be a high-calibre, strategic people manager with strong operational and quality expertise. This is a permanent, long-term position with the potential to step up and take on wider responsibilities within the organisation in the future.

Why Join Us?

  • Vision with Purpose: We are committed to becoming the very best in our field, with a clear and ambitious plan for 2025–2028. The focus is not on turnaround, but on building excellence and giving every home the best chance of achieving Outstanding.
  • Strong Foundations: The business has consistently delivered on financial targets for the last 18 months, ensuring stability and resources to invest in quality.
  • Reputation for Quality: Our homes are specialist nursing dementia services, highly regarded in their communities for compassionate care and innovative practice.
  • Supportive Leadership: You’ll be working alongside a Director who leads with vision and passion, while giving you autonomy to shape operational success.
  • Culture that Values People: With low turnover and a commitment to long-term progression, we pride ourselves on supporting and developing colleagues at every level.
  • Future Growth: This role is designed with succession in mind — the right candidate could ultimately step into an even bigger leadership position within the group.

Role & Expectations

  • Provide inspirational leadership to Registered Managers, ensuring services consistently deliver excellence in care, compliance, and efficiency.
  • Drive improvement against key performance indicators (occupancy, payroll costs, quality performance) while raising the bar on outcomes.
  • Lead on operational delivery with scope for input into compliance, quality, and strategic development.
  • Work in close partnership with the Director, who leads on business development, while bringing your own ideas and insight to enhance operations.
  • Support the delivery of the organisation’s 2025–2028 business plan, ensuring stability, sustainable growth, and quality improvements.
  • Play a pivotal role in preparing services for CQC inspections, with a clear aim of achieving Outstanding ratings.
