Description Position Overview: The Head of Organizational Security at Benaroya Hall is responsible for the performance of Security operations, setting and maintaining standards for in-house teams and vendors to ensure a safe, secure, and pleasant environment for all patrons, guests, staff and musicians. The Head of Organizational Security is responsible for the planning, implementing, training and monitoring of all security operations,. The position works collaboratively with and as a resource for other departments and may work with city, state and federal agencies as needed. In partnership with the Facilities Director and Venue Administration, the position supports the planning, development, training and execution of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery plans. This position will spearhead a full evaluation of the existing security resources and practices and will develop recommendations for an improved security staffing strategy to be implemented with the post-construction Benaroya Hall reopening in September 2026. The Head of Organizational Security position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining and promoting high standards of customer service and professionalism at all times. Essential Job Functions: · Monitor, evaluate and optimize the delivery of security services, for staff, musicians, patrons, vendors and visitors, loading dock management, street use as needed in support of events and package receiving, in the best interest of Benaroya Hall and within established budgets. · Monitor, evaluate and develop security post orders, guard tours, sequence of operations and security staffing plans. · Monitor the quality service delivery of security and parking staff, identify problems, and take prompt and effective corrective action. · Evaluate, establish and coordinate event-based security staffing and equipment requirements and parking requirements as needed. · In cooperation with Facilities Director, monitor, evaluate and optimize the building keying, electronic access control and surveillance systems. Monitor maintenance of electronic and hard key systems and maintain appropriate records. · Ensure appropriate budgeting and financial accountability for security operations. Review and analyze monthly staffing and expenses. · Support the development and delivery of staff safety and security training programs. · Identify and pursue opportunities to collaborate with first responders. Develop cooperative relationships with City of Seattle Police and Fire departments & DHS. · Monitor all appropriate media outlets and communicate impacts pertaining to potential security threats, impacts to staff and patrons associated with roadways such as construction, severe weather and civil disturbances. Work Schedule and Environment: This position requires schedule flexibility to coordinate and ensure security coverage for concerts and event activities, including during evenings and weekends as needed. This role focuses on planning, monitoring, and staffing coverage and may assist in exceptional circumstances when no other resources are available. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works indoors in an office environment utilizing standard office equipment including personal computer and associated software and peripherals. The employee may be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. Requirements Qualifications: · College degree in law enforcement or safety administration. · Five years supervisory experience in either law enforcement or private security, preferably in a high volume, public facility. · Demonstrated experience with guard force management, audits, and assessments. · Demonstrated experience in security program development and management. · Previous experience with parking operations and traffic management. · Ability to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing. · Demonstrated experience with diverse teams and cultures. · Intermediate to advance use of Microsoft Suite, access control systems and CCTV systems. · Demonstrated experience maintaining a budget. · Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
