About the role
As the Head of People and Culture Business Partnering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Vocus. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing our People strategy by providing both strategic and operational HR expertise, insights, and best practices. Your role will involve organizing the planning and reporting of activities within the People & Culture (P&C) Business Partnering team and coordinating key annual People and Culture calendar activities. Leading the P&C Business Partnering team, you will foster a culture that places the customer at the center of everything we do.
In this dynamic role, you will partner with senior and executive leaders across the business to translate strategic objectives into actionable people-related targets and operational plans. Through collaboration with your stakeholders and the business partnering team, you will deliver innovative solutions across various HR domains, including employment, education training and development, compensation and benefits, diversity and inclusion, employment/industrial relations, strategic workforce analysis and planning, talent attraction and resource planning, organizational change management, WHS, and injury management.
Moreover, you will act as a professional coach to your team and the leaders of your companion Centers of Excellence, building People and Culture capability at all levels. Your support will extend to assisting the Chief People Officer with Board reporting needs and being an active member of the People and Culture leadership team.
This hybrid position, preferably based in Melbourne or Sydney, offers the flexibility of working from home while requiring a minimum of two days per week in the office. This balance ensures you stay connected with your team and stakeholders while enjoying the benefits of a flexible work environment.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

  • Provide Strategic HR Advice: Actively contribute as a People & Culture Lead team member in shaping and leading the People & Culture strategy and business plans. Provide strategic and high-level operational advice as partners to senior / executive leaders regarding HR and other People and Culture related policies, programs and practices.
  • Influence: Partner across the organization in proactively identifying strategic People opportunities as well as leveraging these relationships to ensure complex issues are managed strategically.
  • People Agenda: Partner with the senior / executive Leaders in the business to identify, build and implement People solutions that meet strategic and operational business needs.
  • Service Improvement; Contribute to the development and evaluation of changes and improvements to the services provided by the People team.
  • Industry Expertise / External network: Understand industry trends, current market landscape and commercial implications, and demonstrate knowledge of the impact P&C advice has on the business. Research and develop strategic solutions to resolve complex business issues.
  • Professional Coach: Monitor, coach, support, motivate and develop team members to enable them to deliver to the best of their ability.
  • Collaboration / Risk Management: Identify, anticipate and ‘forward manage’ People related risks i.e. employee relations
  • Outcome Measurement: Lead, execute, and measure people outcomes and their impact on the business.
  • Operational Excellence: Deliver the annual calendar of activities in a considered planned and calm fashion

What you’ll bring to this role

  • A Bachelor qualification and relevant professional registration: Essential educational background and necessary professional credentials.
  • Extensive HR management experience: Proven track record in HR management and business partnering within complex environments or large organizations.
  • Strategic interaction: Demonstrated ability to engage at senior and strategic levels.
  • Business planning and strategy implementation: Significant experience in developing and executing business plans and strategies.
  • Coaching and relationship building: Strong skills in coaching and fostering relationships.
