WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for a full-time Head of People & Culture to join our leadership team based in Truganina.
Reporting to the Founder/Managing Director, this is a true generalist role with a seat at the table. You will be leading and supporting a solid team of four HR and Safety professionals who are passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with all employment regulations. We are looking for a People & Culture leader who can really own and further develop the function. The role will ensure that the function supports all areas of our business to help us achieve our company strategy. To support the journey we are on, we need someone who can embody our core values and spread them throughout the organisation.

WHAT SKILLS WILL YOU HAVE?

  • A minimum of 5 years senior Human Resource Management experience.
  • Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related field preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge and hands-on experience of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of taking ownership and driving initiatives to success.
  • Proven track record in positively designing and implementing change management processes in complex and sensitive circumstances.
  • Ability to lead and mentor members of a team.
  • Ability to coach other leaders in the business on best practice People & Culture processes and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, changing environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to positively build effective working relationships, drive engagement, motivate staff and influence culture.
Responsibilities
  • Partner with the Senior Leadership Team to understand and execute our business strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruitment, retention, engagement and succession planning.
  • Lead and mentor existing and future members of the People & Culture team.
  • Provide timely and crucial advice to the Managing Director on any factors that may help with reducing or mitigating risk across IR/ER related matters.
  • Provide strategic leadership of human resource projects and initiatives to support the organisation’s priorities.
  • Experience and capacity to build robust and forward-thinking workforce planning strategies.
  • Provide support and guidance to the HR team, management, and other staff when complex, specialised, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • Create learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Oversee the talent acquisition process, including recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified candidates.
  • Analyse trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive base and incentive pay programs to ensure we attract and retain top talent.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory employment laws and recommend best practice by consistent reviews (and implementation) of policies, procedures, and compliance related matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
