WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience in a Senior HR Manager, People Partner, or Head of HR role
  • Experience in a multi-site, fast-paced, commercial or operational environment
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to lead change and develop people-first initiatives independently
  • CIPD Level 7 or equivalent experience

HEAD OF PEOPLE & CULTURE (HYBRID) – REGIONAL ROLE

Location: Based within 50 miles of Manchester, Leeds, or Sheffield
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 per year (Depending on experience)
Sector: Commercial Services / Environmental Operations
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Hybrid (1–2 days travel per week)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re recruiting an experienced and hands-on Head of People & Culture to join a well-established and fast-growing business in the Specialist Environmental Services sector. This is a hybrid regional role, supporting multiple operational teams across Northern England.
You’ll work closely with senior management to deliver a high-impact people strategy, develop a high-performing culture, and lead on all aspects of HR, employee relations, and organisational change.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and deliver the company’s people strategy across multiple sites
  • Partner with regional managers to drive performance, culture, and engagement
  • Handle complex employee relations issues and ensure legal compliance
  • Coach and develop managers on leadership, performance, and retention
  • Create and embed staff development and succession planning frameworks
  • Lead on change management, restructures, and organisational development
  • Oversee internal recruitment and long-term workforce planning
  • Maintain and improve HR systems, data, and reporting
