Description
Head of People Systems Department: 30-168 - HR - Global Shared Service Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: UK - London Description As our new Head of People Systems, you'll be responsible for defining, governing, and optimising the organisation’s global HR systems to enable effective, efficient, and compliant people processes. You will ensure that people data is accurate, consistent, secure and leveraged effectively to support decision-making across the business. You'll have the opportunity to provide functional leadership over all People systems — ensuring they meet business needs, align with global People process design, and deliver a seamless employee and manager experience. You will provide the systems and data foundation that enables HR and business transformation to succeed. You will also have the chance to partner closely with the Technology function, which owns technical configuration, development, and integrations, acting as the functional bridge between HR and Tech for all People system requirements. What You'll Be Doing: Own the functional design, governance, and optimisation of global People systems (Core HR, Payroll, Talent, Learning, Performance), ensuring data integrity and effective system performance. Define HR system requirements aligned to People and business strategy, translating functional needs into technical specifications for Technology teams. Establish and manage governance for People systems, including enhancement pipelines, change control, prioritisation, and process standardisation. Ensure global consistency in People processes while supporting local regulatory and operational requirements. Act as the primary liaison between the People team and Technology, coordinating requirements, testing, and system deployments. Partner with People CoEs, Operations, Finance, Legal, and Security to ensure systems support business needs and maintain compliance with regulations (e.g., GDPR). Oversee global People data governance, ensuring strong controls around data quality, access, audit, and documentation of HR processes and system configurations. Lead and develop a team of functional HR systems experts, fostering collaboration between People and Technology teams. Manage change management activities including UAT, training, communication, and documentation to support successful adoption of HR system enhancements. Drive People data and analytics capabilities, delivering actionable insights, supporting workforce planning, and evaluating emerging HR technologies such as AI-driven analytics. What You'll Bring: Strong experience owning and managing People systems in a international company, with Oracle experience highly desirable. (or Workday, SAP, SuccessFactors, HiBob or similar) Deep understanding of People processes across Core HR, Reward, Talent, Learning, Performance and Payroll. Proven ability to define system requirements, lead functional design and manage system governance. Demonstrated experience improving data quality, defining data standards and implementing data governance frameworks. Experience working closely with Technology teams on system enhancements, integrations, releases and testing. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, spot issues and drive data accuracy and consistency. Exposure to people analytics, dashboarding, or BI tools (e.g., Power BI), with the ability to turn data into actionable insights for HR and business decision-making. Ability to operate in a complex, global environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Highly organised approach: structured and detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy. Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive change in a complex environment. Strong communication skills: you can translate technical concepts into clear, simple language for HR and business stakeholders. Proactive, curious work approach, committed to continuous improvement. Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery. Ability to keep calm under pressure and able to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Benefits Benefits include access to DAZN, 25 days’ annual leave (increasing by 3 days after 3 years), private medical insurance, life assurance, pension contributions up to 5%, family friendly community including enhanced parental leave, electric vehicle benefit option, learning and development resources, opportunity for flexible working, and access to our internal speaker series and events.
