WHO WE ARE

The National Communities Resource Centre (NCRC) supports individuals and communities to drive local change, build social capital, and reduce inequalities. We provide training, advocacy, and resources to positively disrupt power in our communities and champion resident-led solutions. We work in partnership with government bodies, local authorities, housing providers, and voluntary organisations to deliver meaningful, lasting impact, increasing the levels of influence people have in their own lives and their communities.
NCRC is part of The Regenda Group; we work in places where we can make a difference and operate across the housing and construction sector, in care and support, and in education, training and careers.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team, to develop and implement a robust and visionary funding strategy. The Head of Philanthropy and Funding Strategy will be responsible for securing at least £200,000 annually through a diverse portfolio of income streams including grant funders, commissioners, corporate partners, and philanthropists.
This is a strategic and hands-on role that requires strong relationship-building, income generation, and leadership skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and income generation strategy aligned with NCRC’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Lead all major donor and grant fundraising activities, building strong, long-term relationships with trusts, foundations, individual philanthropists, and statutory funders.
  • Research, identify and apply to funding opportunities and commissioning frameworks that align with our work and priorities.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of funding prospects, ensuring income targets are met or exceeded (£200,000 per annum initially).
  • Represent NCRC externally, positioning the organisation with key stakeholders, funders, networks, and policy makers.
  • Work closely with the Communications and Programme teams to ensure that funding proposals and impact reporting are aligned, compelling, and outcomes-driven.
  • Produce high-quality funding applications, cases for support, reports, and stewardship communications.
  • Manage budgets related to fundraising activities and report on financial performance and forecasts to the Managing Director and Trustees.
  • Support a culture of philanthropy across the organisation and contribute to a collaborative and ambitious leadership team.
