We are looking for a Head of Preforming Arts for an international school based in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, China. This position is available from the upcoming 2026-27 academic year in August 2026. About the school This is a modern bilingual day and boarding school in Jiaxing, Zhejiang, serving students from early years through high school and combining the Chinese National Curriculum with international pathways such as IGCSE, A-Level and IB. The school currently has around 320 students, with a teaching team of approximately 17 expat teachers and 50 Chinese teachers, creating a genuinely international yet locally grounded environment. The purpose-built campus offers excellent facilities for academics, arts and sports, and as part of a large global education group, teachers benefit from strong professional development, international collaboration and rich co-curricular programmes. Jiaxing itself is conveniently located between Shanghai and Hangzhou, around a one-hour drive from either city. Job details Lead the Performing Arts department across the school, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student achievement Teach Performing Arts to students across relevant age groups, delivering engaging and enriching lessons in music, drama, and dance where applicable Plan lessons, rehearsals, assessments, and performances, while contributing to curriculum development and departmental improvement Monitor student progress, provide clear feedback, and support all learners in reaching their potential Lead and mentor department staff, ensuring strong collaboration, accountability, and professional growth Oversee productions, performances, and extra-curricular activities that enrich the wider life of the school Manage departmental resources, facilities, and provision effectively to support outstanding Performing Arts education Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, promoting the values and aspirations of the school Bachelor Degree or above Teaching Certificate in relevant subject/school level At least two years of international education experience Experience in teaching IG and A-Level curriculum Monthly salary of 27,000 to 35,000 RMB commensurate with experience and qualifications Monthly housing allowance of 3,500 Free education for dependent children Public holidays Summer and winter holidays Medical health insurance Be a part of a premium international brand
