We’re looking for an exceptional Head of Product Engineering to join our Wealth APAC team, based in Sydney or Melbourne. In this strategic leadership role, you’ll oversee the engineering direction, operational health, and delivery performance of one of the most critical parts of our technology portfolio.

  • Leading the delivery of high-impact product initiatives in partnership with Product and Design leaders
  • Advocating for sustainable engineering investment—including reducing tech debt and improving developer experience
  • Shaping roadmaps with a strong technical lens, balancing innovation with operational needs
  • Building scalable, observable and resilient systems designed for long-term sustainability
  • Developing and mentoring high-performing engineering leaders and teams
  • Collaborating across global teams to strengthen engineering systems, delivery governance, and team capability
  • Using engineering metrics to continuously improve quality, velocity, and operational maturity
  • Leading through change, platform modernisation, and organisational growth with agility and empathy.

What you will bring

  • Proven experience leading large-scale, distributed engineering teams in a complex technology environment
  • Deep technical knowledge of building scalable, secure and observable systems
  • A strong ability to align engineering outcomes with business goals and customer needs
  • Experience managing prioritisation trade-offs and delivering value at pace
  • Expertise in platform sustainability practices including upgrades, debt reduction and architecture evolution
  • Skilled in product discovery collaboration and embedding engineering perspectives in product strategy
  • Strong systems thinking and a holistic view of how engineering choices impact customer experience and business growth
  • A track record of building high-performing, inclusive engineering cultures
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
  • A growth mindset, curiosity and resilience in the face of change

Why work with us?

  • 8 additional paid days per year to extend your weekends
  • Hybrid working
  • Generous cash bonus for every successful referral
  • Starting school leave - 8.5 days of leave to assist your children with the transition to school
  • Up to 26 weeks’ paid parental leave for primary carers (up to 4 weeks for secondary carers), and the ability to work part-time when returning to work
  • 3 days’ paid leave per year to participate in charity initiatives
