Description
About Spacecurve Spacecurve is a tight-knit team of elite designers, engineers and executors who marry time-tested craftsmanship with advanced technology. Our mission is to create truly new product experiences within a luxury home and lifestyle ecosystem: Flying lamps and inflated metal suitcases are only the beginning. Role Overview Own and lead the product vision, strategy, and execution for a new class of luxury robotics-adjacent interior design products we’re developing at our large workshop in the heart of Tokyo. Your focus will be how customers interact with the physical and digital features of our products. This role requires a dynamic leader to oversee the full product lifecycle from inception to well into product use and care, bridging internal teams and external market needs to deliver critically acclaimed and commercially successful products. The key factor by which we select for this role will be your ability to understand our unique product vision and our release strategy fast, then form a positive relationship with our creative and engineering team and immediately begin to contribute concrete feature ideas to bring the products closer to their final form. Key Responsibilities Be the product owner for our innovative luxury robotics-adjacent furniture and lighting products over the course of the full product lifecycle Be the glue between creative and engineering team (collaborate closely to implement features), market (talk with potential customers to understand their needs), and marketing team (use product knowledge and market insights to help craft core messaging) Use your superior creativity, product instincts, and market insights to work with designers and engineers to define product capabilities that maximize the chances of widespread success Get your hands dirty right down to the user interface, the words written on the package, or how a part of the product is difficult to clean Design buttery smooth frictionless purchase, unboxing, and activation flows Form a precise understanding on what the market thinks it wants, and how we can slowly modulate the market’s thinking without overwhelming or confusing potential customers Control product strategy during development to avoid scope creep and to make sure the product doesn’t try to solve too many problems at once, but just as many as needed for a complete experience Understand the psychology of releasing MVPs on the internal-facing team side and of the Early Adopter on the external-facing consumer-side Foster an innovative culture within the product team, hiring new team members when needed and providing mentoring to create the next generation of product wizards Skills & Qualifications Be passionate about luxury design and user-centric product development Exceptional ability to synthesize market research, customer feedback, product instincts, and technical constraints into a cohesive product vision Experience managing budgets, timelines, and resources in a fast-paced product development environment is required Experience as a product leader in consumer software, industrial design, consumer electronics, or luxury goods is required Why join us We will provide you with all the tools and opportunities necessary to make a direct, meaningful and long-lasting impact on the legacy of our brand and the future of the Japanese design industry You will be part of a high-trust community that encourages risk-taking, experimentation and innovation You will be working alongside ambitious creatives and executors from a wide range of backgrounds and disciplines Project Summary: PSY LIVING (codename) “This is not a conventional furniture or lifestyle brand. We’re a next-generation product and storytelling company with the aim to make the world much more fun” – Jannik Wambsganss, CEO We develop a new brand universe to reinvent the “home experience” with unique design and advanced technology at a luxury price point. Our otherworldly furniture designs provide daily inspiration at home while robotics-adjacent technology unlocks a whole new world of experiences. Through immersive storytelling and innovative branding strategies, we build a universe that feels optimistic and free of limiting beliefs. We want people to wake up in the morning and look forward to an exciting new day where infinity is in the palm of their hands. This message is encoded into every single one of our products. Our products are made in Japan as much as possible and sold direct-to-consumer online and at our Tokyo flagship store, with one in New York opening soon after. Our vision is to operate a world-class manufacturing floor in central Tokyo with an adjacent store and cafe lounge from where guests can overlook production. We hope to energize visitors by letting them participate in our process of making things. Orion Facey, our Head of Design, has achieved notable creative output in the fashion, art, and industrial design world. Together with Jannik Wambsganss, our CEO and Lead Investor, they form a determined and effective team with the mission to find the best designers, engineers, and marketers, and to create a new class of products together.
