Description

We are looking for a passionate, committed, and thorough Head of QHSE who will be at the forefront of all our health and safety operations throughout our UK business. Promoting a safety-first culture, the ideal candidate will provide HSE support, advice and proactive solutions ensuring compliance, development, and education to the entire Pall-Ex Group
The role will be suitable for a robust professional who is passionate about Health and Safety, who instils a positive H&S culture across all our sites, communicates effectively to all our stakeholders and contributes to all our ongoing and future operational projects.
Please note: This role is primarily based at Pall-Ex’s head office in Ellistown, Leicestershire. However, it will involve travel to our other UK operations in Northampton, Bournemouth, Basildon, Cranleigh, and Cornwall.

Responsibilities
  • Implement, maintain, and monitor management systems
  • Identify issues and opportunities for continual improvement, and work with the team to ensure they are actioned
  • Maintain compliance with all aspects of quality and H&S systems
  • Manage the internal & external audit function
  • Conduct site visits in line with audit requirements
  • Understand new and current relevant legislation and its impact to the business operations
  • Responsible for Company’s QHSE processes and procedures to ensure the Company maintains its ISO accreditations
  • Responsible for management of and liaison with QHSE auditors to acquire/maintain Company’s accreditations
  • Support and manage all external supporting functions including RoSPA, APN and Armed Forces Covenant
  • Support and control all Quality, Health & Safety activities
  • Liaise with customers and supply chain, regarding QHSE matters, ensuring their expectations are met
  • Manage and monitor emergency procedures, signage, PPE, COSHH control etc.
  • Report on Company’s QHSE performance to the leadership team and statutory authorities
  • Create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs
  • Conduct QHSE training courses using internal and external resources when required
  • Maintain awareness of evolving industry QHSE regulations and best practice and how they could be applied to the Company’s operations
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for QHSE matters
  • Produce further analysis and reports when required
  • Offer QHSE consultancy to the Company’s shareholder members if requested
