Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

As Head of Rail Sales & Business Development, Europe, you will take full ownership of the rail segment’s growth and performance. That means owning the P&L, building a high-performing sales team from scratch, and leading the charge on closing big deals with top-tier rail operators across Europe.
You are not just a sales leader—you are a builder, a closer, and a force in the rail industry. With deep connections and solid technical expertise in electronics and sensor systems, you will drive the rapid growth of our cutting-edge IoT-based SaaS solutions.
This role is based in Germany or Austria, with frequent travel across Europe. It is your chance to shape a major vertical, steer the strategy, and make a lasting impact in a fast-scaling business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • P&L Ownership: Propose and achieve annual revenue, margin, and growth targets for the European rail business.
  • Strategic Sales & Business Development: Lead aggressive business development to win new high-value accounts as well as increase share-of-wallet with existing customers. Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting via negotiation to deal closure.
  • Team & Customer Engagement: Cultivate and manage executive-level relationships as well as key stakeholders at rail operators across Europe.
  • Technical Solution Sales: Position and sell our portfolio of IoT devices, sensors, and SaaS platform—conduct technical deep dives with engineering, procurement teams, and operational teams
  • Market & Competitive Intelligence: Track industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activity. Use insights to refine go-to-market strategies and create differentiated value propositions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to align on customer needs, tailor solutions, pilot deployments, and ensure seamless roll-out
  • Sales Performance& Forecasting: Maintain a healthy sales funnel, deliver accurate forecasts, and report progress to the CEO and executive team.
