Established for over twenty-nine years, Entel is an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) which has firmly established itself as a prominent leading global player in the radio communications industry. Entel operates its own design and manufacturing divisions, with distribution centres throughout the world.
We are seeking an ambitious, results-oriented and driven Head of Sales to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, or an existing Head of Sales looking to take the next step in their career and transition into a senior leadership role.
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will play a crucial role in leading the BDM team, driving business growth and expanding our client base. You will develop and execute strategies to increase sales, manage key client relationships, and explore new business opportunities.
Working closely with senior leadership and the sales team to align business development initiatives with company goals, you will initially perform the role of Senior Business Development Manager, dedicating 60% of your time to generating sales through proactive calling and driving revenue while the remaining 40% of your time will be overseeing the team’s strategy and performance. This hands-on experience will allow you to fully understand our sales process, product range and company culture before transitioning fully into the Head of Sales position.
This is an office-based role with a strong emphasis on phone sales.
Key Responsibilities: (initial 3 - 6 months)

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Solid experience in technical product sales with proven success in driving business growth and managing high-level accounts.
  • Proven experience in business development and sales with a hands-on, phone based sales background (preferably office based, not field sales).
  • Demonstrable proven track record in sales growth.
  • A results-orientated approach with hunter centric sales experience including prospecting, cold-calling, qualifying leads, negotiating and closing sales and building relationships.
  • Experience in distributor sales or managing distribution channels, desirable.
  • Ambition and a desire to step into senior leadership within a short timeframe.
  • Strong leadership potential with proven experience of managing teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure.
  • Tech-savvy (experience working with products of a technical nature would be a plus).
  • Strategic thinker, with the ability to quickly understand market demand.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous experience in a sales lead role, with a demonstrated history of success in driving sales ideally within an office-based environment.
  • Demonstrated success in phone-based sales, cold calling and lead generation.
  • Ability to analyse sales data and develop actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modelling, and reporting.
  • In-depth understanding of CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
    To be considered for the role, you must live within a commutable distance, less than an hour, from the office which is based in Elstree (WD6 3TJ).
