Location: Cornwall College (St Austell Campus)
Salary: £45,000 to £50,000 FTE
Terms & Conditions: Full Time (37 hours/52 weeks), Managerial Contract

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

We are looking for a passionate and visionary leader with relevant experience working with SEND, high needs, RARPA and entry level qualifications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate outstanding leadership and management skills, a strong commitment to our values, and a proven track record of driving lasting improvements through innovation in teaching and learning.
They will possess excellent people skills, with the ability to inspire, challenge, and mentor others, fostering inclusive, courageous teams focused on learner success. A good understanding of local partnerships, funding streams, and quality assessment processes is essential, along with flexibility to work across college sites and hours. Candidates should hold a recognised degree or higher management qualification, a teaching qualification, level 2 or above in English and maths, and the NASEN Award or NPQ SEN qualification.

Responsibilities

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and strategic lead for SEND and inclusion across the Cornwall College Group, with a dedicated focus on High Needs provision. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of innovative, high-quality education and training programs that inspire and engage learners. You will lead the design and implementation of a fully inclusive curriculum that not only meets statutory requirements but also empowers learners by equipping them with the essential skills, confidence, and independence needed for meaningful employment, successful independent living, personal development, and future progression.
Your leadership will be crucial in fostering an environment where all learners feel supported, valued, and motivated to achieve their full potential. Alongside this, you will oversee the St Austell Curriculum Area, ensuring that its strategic goals, teaching quality, and learner outcomes align seamlessly with the Group’s wider vision for inclusion and excellence. Through collaborative working with staff, learners, families, and external partners, you will champion best practices in SEND provision and inclusion, promoting continuous improvement and innovation across the curriculum.
