This Position reports to: Service Operations Manager Your role and responsibilities As Head of Service Project Management, you will lead and develop a team of seven project managers located across Aalborg, Middelfart, Ballerup and Esbjerg. You will ensure continuous professional development, provide present leadership, and act as a sparring partner to support high‑quality project execution. The projects vary from smaller tasks to large deliveries of up to 10,000 ABB man‑hours. You will also be part of the Service management team as well as the division’s Extended Management Team, contributing to strategic initiatives and operational decision‑making. Your responsibilities will include Leading, developing and coaching a team of project managers across four ABB locations Acting as first escalation point for customer interfaces, external stakeholders and sub‑suppliers Ensuring project excellence through structured methods, tools and execution models within ABB’s Quality Management System Supporting project managers in customer‑facing situations and strengthening ABB’s service identity Translating organizational needs into requirements and participating in recruitment to support team growth Driving PMO presence through 1:1 sparring sessions and departmental meetings Ensuring project transparency and providing early warnings together with project managers Contributing to operational planning and continuous improvement of service project execution Qualifications for the role Documented experience as a project manager, ideally leading customer‑facing industrial or automation‑related projects Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, IPMA or equivalent) Solid experience handling customers and external stakeholders, with confidence in leading direct dialogue and managing expectations Experience from consulting or other externally oriented environments is an advantage Experience with structured project governance and execution Ability to guide teams using structured project models, tools and execution frameworks Strong communication skills with the ability to build trustful collaboration across locations Proficiency in Danish at a level that enables you to facilitate customer meetings, and strong communication skills in English More about us ​ At ABB, we have a clear goal of promoting diversity and inclusion in terms of gender, LGBTQ+, disability, ethnicity, and age. Travel between the different ABB locations should be expected as part of the role, and there will be periods with increased travel activity if a project requires your presence at the nearest office.
