JOB DESCRIPTION

The Head of Small Business Banking reports directly to the Head of Branch Banking and is responsible for leading the small business banking strategy across the organization’s footprint. This role focuses on driving growth within the small business segment. The Executive is accountable for executing client acquisition strategies, enhancing profitability, and managing the end-to-end sales process. They establish and monitor key sales metrics, ensuring effective sales management and execution. Additionally, this leader fosters a collaborative, growth-oriented culture aligned with the “One Bank” philosophy, promoting integrated client acquisition, retention, and engagement strategies.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams. This executive will have experience leading a best-in-class organization, leveraging highly disciplined business, financial, and strategic processes, and demonstrated experience and success enabling business growth in new client acquisition, deepening of client relationships and the development and delivery of exceptional solutions for small businesses.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operationalize business growth strategies to achieve assigned financial targets and organization growth goals.
  • Analyze sales performance and net flows metrics to determine areas of need and follow up with targeted solutions.
  • Oversee allocation of people and financial resources for purposeful business strategy.
  • Enable and inspire leaders to the highest standards of execution, driving consistency, problem solving and sound decision making while setting a clear team vision.
  • Actively lead individual direct reports to optimal performance through a commitment to strong coaching routines and excellent coaching techniques; provide direct feedback to leaders while holding them accountable to business targets and people-leader goals.
  • Promote a culture of ongoing feedback, performance and development discussions and drive excellence in performance coaching among leaders.
  • Build strong, effective partnerships with colleagues across the enterprise to work together and collaboratively remove roadblocks for success.
  • Must be present in each of the regions, engaging with employees and customers on a regular basis.
  • Proven success leading a multi-unit, customer-centered business banking organization.
  • Deep knowledge of small business banking, cultural, historical and technical insights.
