ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As Head of Software Engineering, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of core technology solutions across the organization, ensuring they meet high-quality standards, align with customer expectations, and support business objectives. You will lead and mentor engineering teams, foster a culture of innovation and technical excellence, and clearly communicate progress, challenges, and achievements to stakeholders. The Head of Software Engineering plays a key role in strategic planning, setting technical direction, and driving execution to enhance service delivery and streamline operations. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong leadership, and a hands-on approach to driving technology initiatives at Pest Share.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Lead the web and API development of business applications across the organization, setting technology direction and standards that are consistent with best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review, align, and drive technology plans that ensure focus is directed towards the core initiatives to meet our business goals.
• Partner with the product team to provide technical leadership in translating business needs into scalable, reliable solutions. Oversee application development architecture with a focus on availability, stability, and long-term growth.
• Build and direct a high-functioning team by optimizing capacity and delivery while strengthening capability and effectiveness. Establish clear performance goals, provide coaching and mentorship, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Define and execute strategic multi-year roadmaps, in partnership with the leadership team, that drive growth, innovation, and operational efficiency.
• Stay apprised of emerging technologies and market trends and make recommendations to align with the business strategic initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Candidates with SaaS industry experience are strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience overseeing large platforms and software development lifecycle methodologies across Agile environments.
• Understanding of database environments and cloud infrastructure systems like AWS.
• Proven success leading high-performing teams and developing talent through mentorship, clarity, and shared accountability.
• Excellent communicator who is adept at translating evolving user needs and operational pain points into solutions that drive both operational efficiency and user satisfaction.
