Responsibilities

THE ROLE:

The role will lead and oversee the global tax function. The role will play a critical role in managing all aspects of direct and indirect tax across UK, US and other jurisdictions as necessary. This is a highly visible position that will partner closely with finance, operations, and commercial teams to support business initiatives, manage risk, and drive operational excellence.
The role is not limited to a list of bullet points. In such a high growth business, the breadth of the role is determined as much by the demands of the market and business, as it is by the drive and ambition of the person.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and own the global tax strategy aligned with the company’s growth ambitions, commercial priorities, and regulatory landscape

  • Lead all aspects of direct and indirect taxation, including corporate income tax, VAT/sales tax, employment tax, and transfer pricing
  • Oversee tax compliance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions (UK and US being the largest), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and audit readiness
  • Serve as a strategic advisor on tax implications of business decisions, including expansion, product lines, supply chain, and entity structuring
  • Manage relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies in the UK, US, and other key markets
  • Manage tax audits and liaise with tax authorities
  • Establish robust tax governance, policies, and controls in line with best practices and applicable accounting standards
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on the business; provide proactive guidance to leadership
  • Preparation and review of tax provisions for statutory accounts and management reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement of systems, processes, and technology to support tax compliance, automation, and data integrity
  • Other ad hoc tasks as and when required
