Are you an experienced insurance policy wording legal expert? Following significant investment, AXA Commercial are transforming the way we manage wordings and how we trade with business partners. If you’ve a legal background with experience in commercial insurance and technical wording drafting, this could be the role for you.
You’ll work with product management experts on technical and legal aspects of insurance wordings and authoring for our next generation of customer propositions. Wordings will move from static text objects to dynamic data driven wording components, held within a cutting-edge library that integrates with our wider technology infrastructure. You’ll understand the need to balance risk appetite with good customer outcomes and business delivery.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You’ll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. You’ll regularly spend time in our London office.

• Be an insurance policy wording legal expert and lead the technical agenda across AXA Commercial.
• Work with product management colleagues on reviews, changes and additions to existing wordings.
• Ensure new insurance products and propositions have customer contract documentation with solid legally defensible content which balance customer, business and operational needs.
• Support transformation of AXA’s wordings environment, embracing new solutions for managing wording and technical authoring.
• Build a virtual community and expand colleague capability through increasing knowledge of contractual and legal wordings.
• Work closely with brokers or coverholders to negotiate on drafted technical content, which can provide long-term sustainable cover for customers, partners and AXA Commercial.
• Maintain knowledge of latest wording developments including consumer duty, legal developments, and industry changes.
• Work with AXA colleagues to ensure underwriting and legal requirements are met with clear policies and outcomes that are commercially viable.
