Job Title: Head of Technical & Scientific Solutions, APeC Position Summary The Head of Technical & Scientific Solutions (TSS) for the Asia-Pacific excluding China (APeC) region will report to the Head of Commercial Process Solutions. This role will lead a dynamic team of engineers and scientists to ensure robust operations in clinical and commercial-scale biopharmaceutical manufacturing, utilizing Millipore Sigma’s and Merck’s best-in-class products, technologies, and processing systems, including M Labs within the region. The successful candidate will collaborate with internal stakeholders to effectively address customer needs, including technical inquiries and product quality complaints, in a timely manner. Additionally, they will develop and implement strategies to differentiate against competitors, enhance customer satisfaction, and improve operational efficiency. Key Accountabilities Strategic Impact Drive the adoption of Millipore Sigma/Merck products, facilitate competitive conversions, and seed wins to ensure business growth and market leadership. Enable both customers and internal partners to achieve their objectives through effective resolution of inquiries and complaints. Defend Merck’s position in front of customers while providing strategic insights into customer programs and plans. Scope of People Responsibility Manage, coach, and mentor a diverse technical team, including people managers, within an organization of 60 personnel for APeC excluding China. Foster a climate of Health, Inclusion, and Diversity (HIC and DE&I) within the organization. Cooperations Collaborate with regional commercial organizations, global TSS peers, R&D, Franchise, Field Service, GSA, ISCO, and Quality Teams. Engage with external stakeholders, including customers, industry forums, associations, conferences, and regulators. Education / Work Experience Minimum of a B.S., M.S., or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related engineering/science discipline. At least 15 years of experience in biopharmaceutical technical roles in manufacturing, pilot, or lab-scale environments, preferably in customer-facing positions. Proven industry experience and technical knowledge, including people management and leadership skills. Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
