Bill Buddy is an Australian payments platform that helps businesses simplify billing and manage customer payments securely and efficiently. We are seeking a Head of Technology to lead our software development function while remaining actively involved in programming and delivery.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field; Or at least five years of relevant industry experience may substitute for the formal qualification.
· Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
· Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React or Vue.
· Solid knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
· Experience with UI component libraries and version control systems (e.g. Git).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven ability to deliver outcomes in fast-paced environments.

Pay: $140,000.00 – $160,000.00 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Abbotsford VIC 306

1. Act as the technical lead for the development team, setting coding standards, reviewing code, and guiding technical best practices while remaining hands-on with development tasks.
2. Design, build, test, debug, and document program code for secure, reliable, and high-performance payment processing solutions.
3. Interpret business and technical requirements to build and maintain digital payment platforms and applications, including web and mobile systems with integrations such as Direct Debit, BPAY, and WebPay.
4. Develop reusable front-end components and business modules to support scalable billing workflows and consistent user experiences.
5. Integrate APIs and third-party systems to ensure seamless merchant and consumer transactions.
6. Contribute to technical evaluations and continuous improvement initiatives, with a focus on performance, security, and usability.
