We realize this mission by developing high performant, low latency systems where reliability and accuracy are paramount for delivering high-quality software within IG's most complex business domain. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader who’s used to working in developing complex applications. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing world-class digital experience solutions for our clients. To the team of developers, you will provide technical leadership and guidance as well as mentoring and care about their development opportunities. What you’ll do You will collaborate closely with a product manager and stakeholders to understand their needs and problems and provide innovative solutions using full stack development tools and technologies. Furthermore, oversee the end-to-end implementation of projects, ensuring high-quality delivery, adherence to best coding practices, and on-time project completion. You will have line management responsibilities that include hiring, mentoring, and supporting the team. Extensive experience managing a team of strong software engineers. Drive the technical direction and architecture of projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices. Coordinate and prioritize tasks and assignments within the team, ensuring efficient utilization of team members and timely project delivery. Participate in hands-on development activities, contributing to the coding, debugging, and testing of software solutions as needed. Conduct regular code reviews, employ strong coding standards for efficiency, readability, and reuse. Provide feedback to team members to ensure code quality, adherence to standards, and best practices. Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the team. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues, mitigate risks, and ensure successful project outcomes. Stay up to date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and leverage this knowledge to drive technical innovation and improvement. Act as a liaison between the technical team and stakeholders, providing regular updates, status reports, and addressing any concerns or issues. Together with a Ways of Working coach finetune the development processes. What you’ll need for this role 15+ years of extensive full stack Java development experience with large-scale & low latency fintech applications, testing, monitoring, SLAs etc. 5+ years of strong engineering management experience managing multiple team strategically for delivering high complex product or projects. Extensive knowledge in front end development using JavaScript or Type Script with exposure to various frameworks like ReactJS, Angular Extensive knowledge of Java EE and related technologies: Spring Framework, Spring boot, messaging tech - JMS, Kafka etc. Strong understanding of how JVM works Experience of developing RESTful web services using Apache Tomcat. Firm believer in the value of agile development methodologies, Pair programming, Test Driven Development, and Continuous Delivery. Quick to assimilate new ideas and concepts – productive from day one in the role Proven experience as a Technical Team Lead, Software Development Lead, or similar role, leading and managing technical teams Solid understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on driving results Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget Ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on involvement in technical projects Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and delivery Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of cloud platforms and services, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
